This kit provides the wire to be run to the vehicle battery to power the lights on the trailer. Works will all ModuLite wiring harnesses and includes all of the connectors necessary to complete the installation of the ModuLite wiring harness.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the ModuLite installation wiring kit. This kit provides the wire to be run to the vehicle battery to power the lights on your trailer. It works with all ModuLite wiring harnesses and includes all of the connectors necessary to complete the installation of the ModuLite wiring harness. This kit's going to come with one 10-amp fuse. It's going to come with the fuse holder, which is this component right here. It's going to come with eight cable ties. These are going to be designed to secure the wiring up and out of the way as you run it along the length of the vehicle.
It's going to come with one three-eighth inch diameter ring terminal, one half-inch diameter ring terminal, and it's going to come with one bundle of wiring. This is 12-gauge wiring that measures 20 feet long. You're going to get a butt connector as well. Basically, what you would do is you would connect this wire here to the power lead coming out of the ModuLite. You want to connect the two wires with the butt connector, and then you take the other other end, run it to the vehicle battery, and one end of this bundle would connect to one half of the fuse holder. The other half of the fuse holder would get one of the two ring terminals placed on it, and get connected to the positive post of the vehicle battery.
Again, the 10-amp fuse is included, goes directly in this area here, pushes in, and then it's got the cap on there that would go over it and keep it safe and protected. Then, you've got your cable ties to secure any excess or slack in your wiring. That's going to do it for today's look at the ModuLite installation wiring kit.
The product was just as advertised and it shipped overnight just as requested. Presently surprised by a company that not only has most of the products that they list on their website in stock but will also ship them as quickly as the customer may request them.

The wiring harness kit that I purchased from etrailer - is AWESOME! I'm an old timer, I've been putting trailer hitches and wiring on my vehicles since the late '70's. I tow A LOT!
Remember the old days? of splicing into existing tail and brake lights? Watching your turn signals, Brake Lights DIM? or worse - blow fuses due to the added load on the circuit? Remember burning your fingers on a soldering iron (In an attempt to get the perfect and long lasting wiring job done). Remember how long it would take to get a decent job done? And hoping that it never got wet, damp, submerged? Well - let me tell you - etrailer has solved that problem with a very well engineered and crafted system. With their system - you don't have to splice into existing wiring harnesses - you simply unplug the old, and plug in their y-based electrical harness that is made specifically for your vehicle. The only other thing to do is to run a hot wire off of the battery positive terminal and secure a good ground for the system. Whah-Lahhh! You have a custom engineered and custom manufactured wiring harness - that works right out of the gate! Not only that, but the trailer lights are BRIGHT because the system takes its power source directly from the battery positive terminal. Not only that - but it does not affect the brightness of your existing brake and turn signals, either - as you are not placing additonal load on a circuit that was not designed for it. Everything is well thought out, engineered and manufactured to perfection. They even give you an in-line fuse to protect the circuit. AND-the kit is reasonably priced! AND - You can do this in less than 1/4 the time that it would normally take to find and splice into the vehicles wiring harness. Well done and my Thanks to YOU, etrailer - you have made an eternal customer out of me!! Now I am looking forward to the next Vehicle Trailer Wiring Project!
This kit needs to include two (2) butt connectors. After all, there are two open ends on the 20 foot 12 guage wire.....each requiring a butt splice.
Twenty feet of wire wasn't quite enough to make the entire run from the ModuLite to the battery in my 2000 Ford Econoline Van. It could have used another butt connector to attach the wire to the Modulite. These were very small problems as I had other wire and a connector on hand to complete the installation. Four stars for the product.

Wonderful! Trailer lights bright!
I installed the trailer wiring connector in about an hour and a half and it has worked well. I store the coil of the pig tail coiled in the tire inflation pump, floor compartment, until needed. I used it in my 2021 Ford Ecosport that I also installed a receiver hitch under. Easy to install and much, much cheaper than having the dealership install their version.
I think mine was used, but still worked like it was new. Not complicated at all. etrailer is the bomb!

Having just bought a new Kia Soul with LED tail lights, I needed to be certain to get the correct products to properly wire my vehicle without damaging the electrical system. Local installers in my hometown were going to simply tap into the rear tail light wiring and go straight to the trailer lights.
Thanks to you guys and your helpful videos, you advised me to use the #118151 Modulite Installation Wiring Kit in conjunction with with the #119176 Wiring Harness. By doing so, the power wire to operate the trailer lights comes directly from my vehicle battery, and alleviates and/or prevents possible damage to the tail light system of my car.
I advise anyone to get in touch with the "EXPERTS" at etrailer.com for excellent advice and superior products to get the job done!!!!
